From Stage Directions & The Lowry, this 8 week programme is an easy, free way to develop your practice as a facilitator. With masterclasses coupled with  peer-led sessions sharing practice, this is a great way for new and experienced artists to further deepen their skills working with young people and community groups.

Open to practitioners throughout the UK, sessions will take place mainly on Zoom, with up to 2 in person sessions at The Lowry in Salford.

Stage Directions is a theatre making programme but we welcome practitioners who have different specialisms.

The sessions will be facilitated by experts and the cohort will be guided through by Joe Gilmour - an experienced practitioner & theatre director. He directed the youth theatre at the Bolton Octagon for three years, and now who works regulary with The Lowry, Leeds Playhouse and the Royal Exchange.
  • We had so many interesting conversations about creativity, making sessions accessible and what inclusion actually means. Joe is a great facilitator and there was lots of space for you to bring your own ideas and talk about things that mattered to you as a practitioner.”
