Professional Development and Training
Stage Directions believes that everyone, no matter how young or experienced, is an expert in their own right. Each teacher, child and artist who takes part in our programme brings their own unique set of expertise and knowledge. On this basis, we use co-creation throughout our work to ensure that everyone’s voice has a place in the building of a culturally rich landscape in Salford. Co-creation empowers all involved to influence and contribute to the work as it happens and develops. We will work to share the learning and principles of co-creation with national partners and stakeholders.
We work with The Audience Agency and BOP to consistently evaluate the impact and reach of our work to ensure that what we can leave behind is a set of guiding principles for the city to hold onto the relationships started by Stage Directions and the LCEP.
Stage Directions has created huge amounts of professional development opportunities for a broad range of people this includes:
- A 2 day residential for artists, teachers and trainees with sessions from CommonWealth, The Wardrobe Ensemble, TalkOut & Action Transport Theatre
- 10 trainee placements for early career artists with a passion for participatory work to learn more about forging a career and specialism in delivering high quality engagement work in Salford
